About the Swim Series
The St Vincent's Herald Sun Swim Series is an ocean swim competition for the thousands of recreation swimmers who take part in individual swims over summer.

The competition includes 20 swims and begins with the Play it Safe by the water sponsored "Swim For Your Life" Brighton swim on 15 December 2007. Competitors in this event will automatically qualify for points in The St Vincent's Herald Sun Swim Series.

Competitors only have to compete in five swims to be eligible for prizes that include the major travel prize valued at $4990 and other random prizes. Prizes have been proudly donated by Cousins Tours & Travel and Rudy Project.

The top 20 competitors in each category will receive placing points for each event while every competitor that swims in an event receives 1 point for participation.

The scoring system for the series gives everyone a chance to finish amongst the top places. But to be eligible for the major travel prize and series prizes, entrants only have to complete the minimum five swims.

It’s free to register for The St Vincent's Herald Sun Swim Series. The individual swim events continue to be run by the relevant clubs and their usual entry fees apply. These fees often support charities and the local Surf Life Saving Club.
